Flirtatious and Funky !
Tucked in the very heart of Kuala Lumpur's rejuvenated Chinatown, our walls were once the sanctum for eternal Mahjong nights, gang lord reunions and hosted women of the street, opium smokers and Chinese merchants.
Concubine KL is flirtatious and funky, indeed, everything there is done with a little dash of fun and sass. Age-worn walls and original wooden structures have been kept intact and given a coat of punchy pink and jungle green that catches perfectly the splashes of neon lights.
The result is an urban reinterpretation of Chinatown, respecting the old but bringing to it a lens of the future.
THE VENUE

Concubine is inspired by the figures of a select group of women whose actions and allure, played a pivotal role in the Chinese empire in their day.
But far from portraying the Concubines of that era, Concubine KL is here in the name of empowering the modern, independent and strong willed woman that we all admire today.
Our murals draw inspiration from Chinese models and actresses such as Fei Sun - whose portrait you’ll find near the entrance. Adopting a diverse range of mediums and techniques, the artists explored the possibilities of street art to recreate works that exude and complement Chinatown's Kwai Chai Hong built environment.
These are now our true emblems of the reformulated version of a ‘concubine’ - unapologetically audacious, gritty and powerful!
